Wine of October – Veerdercrest Cabernet Sauvignon 2010 North Coast
As fall is finally slipping in, we would recommend wine lovers to make a switch from some sweet and refreshing wine to something slightly more tannic and food-friendly just like Veerdercrest Cabernet Sauvignon 2010 North Coast.
As a blend of 75% of Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% of Syrah – a popular blending grape due to its dark skin and smoky scent – from the Mendocino and Napa Valley appellations, this wine of the month presents a juicy profile with an initial note of dark cherry aromas, ending on the palate with a blueberry and raspberry overtones.
This crystal clear wine has moderately low alcohol of 13.5% and gentle tannins that guide a bright finish with a pleasing tang of lemony citric acid. Due to its low residual sugar level, this wine pairs well with roasted chicken with lemon glaze, roast duck, baked ham or roast pork.
