This wine is light golden color, the nose display buttery, ripe apple, pear, citrus aromas and complemented by seductive vanilla and cinnamon, nutmeg scents from oak ageing and subtle yeast tones from lees contact. On the palate, show lush, creamy and concentrated of ripe apple, melon, with crispy acidity and zesty mineral finis.
The grape is sourced from Oak Knoll District; the Chardonnay farmed by Steve Mathiason. This western valley floor vineyard has deep alluvial soils, warm temperatures, developing ripe stone aromas.
The harvest time is between 3 October 2011 with 22.9 brix level and 7.0 g/l total acidity, followed by fermentation in small open top fermenters and hand punch down, , then aged 5 months in French oak(neutral), aged sur lie, stirred weekly.
